Teacher’s opinion needed for 1st report on the state of history teaching in Europe

The first OHTE report on the state of history teaching in Europe will present a general overview on how history is taught in its member states based on reliable data and facts. The report will be published by the end of 2023 and will provide information that the policy makers and practitioners can use to improve the principles and practices in history education. It intends to cover the following main topics:

  • The place of History in the educational system
  • History curricula
  • History textbooks and educational resources
  • History teaching and learning in practice
  • Learning outcomes and assessment
  • Teachers and their education

In order to gain as much insight possible, a large number of responses from teachers is needed per country. This information will complement data collected from the education authorities of the 16 member states of the Observatory.

The survey is available for teachers to complete in 12 languages and is accessible through the link below.
