Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Reynders, in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, welcomes the approval yesterday by the Committee of Ministers of the Action Plan worked out between the Council of Europe and Ukraine for the period 2015-2017.

In the present difficult context it is indispensable to keep working in unison to strengthen democracy, rule of law and human rights in Ukraine. Through the implementation of this action plan, the various Council of Europe institutions and mechanisms will be able to harness their expertise to concerns which are crucial for Ukraine’s democratic consolidation, such as constitutional and justice reforms, democratic governance, combating economic crime and protection of human rights.
