Atzealdea Training for project experts in Finland

Training for project experts in Finland

A training on the intercultural integration concepts has been organized for the experts of the EU / CoE Joint Project on “Building an inclusive integration approach in Finland” on 5-6 June 2023 in Helsinki.

The training addressed questions related to the good relations and intercultural integration concepts, as well as methodologies on topics such as communicating good relations and interculturalism, addressing stereotypes and intercultural competences.

The project aims to contribute to the ongoing reform on migrant integration and inclusion in Finland, working with 5 municipalities (Hämeenlinna, Tampere, Turku, Vaasa and Vantaa) on promoting the implementation of local integration strategies which reflect intercultural and good relations principles. It is aimed that these municipalities will be able to develop local integration policies in an evidence-based manner, with the support of trained project experts.

The experts will also assist participating Finnish municipalities with their ICC Index analysis, drawing up their strategies and in implementing these strategies with practical tools and solutions.

The training has been provided by the Council of Europe (ICC) experts Daniel de Torres and Gemma Pinyol Jimenez.

The joint project “Building an inclusive integration approach in Finland” is co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe in co-operation with the European Commission.
