Half a million Roma died during the Second World War, victims of Nazi death squads and extermination camps. 20,000 died in Auschwitz, nearly 3,000 of them on a single day, August 2nd 1944, which is now recognised officially as Roma Holocaust Day, and marked every year by the Council of Europe and other international organisations and governments.

This short film was produced by the Roma Integration 2020, Regional Cooperation Council. The video is for non-commercial education purposes only, and is based on the publication "Right to Remember", a handbook aimed at educating young people about the Roma genocide. The copyright for this publication is held by the Council of Europe.
