XVIIth Meeting of the Ibero-american network of data protection authorities

The Ibero-american network of data protection authorities is meeting this week in Naucalpan de Juárez for its annual conference.

Several hundreds of participants from the entire region and beyond, will address topical data protections issues in the two days intense Conference covering a broad range of topics.

On 21 June, the closed session will enable an exchange of information and close cooperation between all members of the Network as well as its accredited observers. Both in the open and closed session of the Conference, Patrick Penninckx, Head of the Information Society Department will present the novelties of Convention 108+ and what the modernised instrument provides for countries of the region, recalling that Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay are all Parties to Convention 108 already (which gathers 55 countries in total).

The Committee of Convention 108 was recently granted observer status in the Network and is participating for the first time in this important regional meeting.
