Romania, through its Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture and National Identity, is a member of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe since 2013, quality which enables an active involvement on international level regarding cultural tourism and especially on developing and promoting sustainable and competitive tourism products. Between the 12-16 March 2018, the Ministry of Tourism organized several seminars in Bacău, Sucevița and Baia Mare. The participants were representatives from local public administration, cultural institutions, National/Local Tourist Promotion and Information Centers.

The main objectives of the seminars consisted in: promoting the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme, identifying the tourist attractions that can be included in the certified Cultural Routes, raising awareness for the local public administration and the private tourism stakeholders regarding the importance of conservation and promotion of Romanian tangible and intangible heritage, the possibilities for valorising the tourism attractions by creating Cultural Routes at national/regional/local level and their contribution to increasing the visibility of Romania as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination through the cultural heritage.
