Since young he was involved in the scout movement, became later a trainer of youth leaders and finally chairperson of the organization. He studied mathematics and was a math teacher in secondary schools from 1988 until 2003. Since 2003, he is director of the National Youth Service. As such he represented Luxembourg until 2018 in the Steering Committee for Youth of the Council of Europe and got involved in the “Quality label for youth centres” which he helped to develop.
