The future of youth work, the youth work of the future

The European Youth Centre Budapest (EYCB) and the National Youth Council of Hungary have organised a joint conference focusing on youth work. The one day event took place on 6 September 2019 and welcomed a diverse array of stakeholders from the Hungarian youth sector to explore the current state and future opportunities for youth work in Hungary and in Europe.

During the event the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers Recommendation on Youth Work was also presented by EYCB Deputy Director Balint Molnar.

The programme also included panel discussions with youth workers and governmental stakeholders, workshops focusing on the formal and non-formal education opportunities for youth workers, the challenges and opportunities presented by increasing digitization, as well as the most current research on the value and role of youth work.

The programme closed with a rapid-fire session of presentations of various youth work best practices from across Hungary.
