On 13 December 2021 a Youth Peace Conference was organised online to bring together organisers and participants of the Youth Peace Week 2021 and of Local Peace Camps; to share lessons learnt and to get inspired to continue the work.

About 30 participants took part in the event. In smaller breakout sessions, they shared lessons learnt and personal accomplishments, and talked about the importance on involving young people in peacebuilding processes.

The conference included a presentation on outcomes of the Local Peace Camps. A total of 140 young people took part in 7 Local Peace Camps between September and December 2021.

Guest speaker Professor Momodou Sallah (De Montfort University) inspired the conference with a presentation about the role of youth work in peacebuilding. He focused on the notion of provoking consciousness through dialogue, which can be done on personal, local, national and global level.
