Armenia submitted its 3rd National Report on the non-accepted provisions of the European Social Charter, provided for by Article 22 of the Charter.
The report covers Articles 9 – the right to vocational guidance, 10 – The right to vocational training, 15.1 – The rights of persons with disabilities, 23 – The rights of elderly persons to social protection, 31 – The right to housing.
Under the procedure on non-accepted provisions, States Parties to the European Social Charter are required to report on non-accepted provisions every five years from the date of ratification, and the European Committee of Social Rights is invited to examine the information provided by the States concerned. The aim of this exercise is to encourage States Parties to progressively accept all the provisions of the Charter, as it is in the spirit of the Charter.
In September 2022, the European Committee of Social Rights adopted a decision to reinforce the application of the adapted procedure on non-accepted provisions for all States Parties to one of the two Charter (the 1961 version or the 1996 version).
The Report submitted by Armenia will be examined by the European Committee of Social Rights in the course of 2024/2025.
