The Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan together with the Deputy Minister of Justice took part in the launching of the E-probation management system. The system that was set up with the Council of Europe’s support will allow the probation officers to easily work with data and track the beneficiaries’ progress while on probation.

This innovative system will enhance the efficiency, transparency and accountability of the Probation Service, and will ease the process of beneficiaries’ data processing. In addition, the system is integrated with the Government Interoperability Platform of Armenia to receive and provide real time data from the core state registries. In addition, the e-probation will be available in the central body of the Probation service and its regional offices.

In parallel, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, Martina Schmidt, and the Head of the Probation Service, Gevorg Simonyan, took part in the opening ceremony of two Offices of Armavir regional body of the Probation Service equipped with IT equipment provided with the support of the Council of Europe. Hardware will ensure the smooth functioning of the e-probation system. The hardware was delivered to the regional bodies and the central body of the Probation Service.

The system was developed under the “Support the scaling-up of the Probation Service in Armenia” project which is carried out by the Council of Europe and financed by the Action Plan for Armenia 2019 -2022.
