The Council of Europe’s Director General of Democracy Snežana Samardžić-Marković presented the World Forum for Democracy at the Salzburg Forum “Mapping of the New Geopolitics” (3-5 September 2017), organised by the International Peace institute (IPI).

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two organisations for the purpose of sharing of knowledge through policy intelligence and joint events on themes of common interest such as the reinforcement of democracy and democratic governance, and the challenges of building a peaceful world.

IPI will partner with the Council of Europe for the organisation of the World Forum for Democracy.

The Organisation’s distinguished President, Terje Rød-Larsen, is expected to take part at this year’s plenary debate on Multilateral Responses to Populism.
