On Monday 13 June 2022, the World Forum for Democracy, in partnership with the association THEMIS: Association d'accès au droit pour les enfants et les jeunes (Association for access to the law for children and young people), is organising a forum involving young adolescents in the democratic process.
For this first edition, some 400 young people from the European Collectivity of Alsace wished to debate in plenary session on a topical theme: living together in secondary schools.
These middle school students have worked on the subject with their teachers and will present their initiatives in the hemicycle of the Council of Europe in the form of an eloquence competition. The participants will be able to ask questions and vote after each speech to express their feelings on the content of the presentation.
This Forum for secondary school pupils will be chaired by Ms Josiane Bigot, honorary magistrate and President of Themis. The caricaturist Laurent Salles and the rapper Le Daron will have their own discussions with the young people and will propose artistic content related to the theme.
