Back The exhibition "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Italy: a European Heritage" opens in Venice

The exhibition

On 7 February, the exhibition "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Italy: a European Heritage" arrived in Venice, organized by the Italian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and by the Council of Europe Venice Office, in partnership with the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes (EPA).

The exhibition guides the visitor through the 29 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe with Italian members, out of a total of 45 certified by the Council of Europe until 2021.

The exhibition offers a journey through time and space that winds through Italy to rediscover places of cultural and touristic interest.
Each panel illustrates an itinerary: the titles on a red background refer to the eight Cultural Routes that have their headquarters in Italy, while those on a blue background narrate the twenty-one European itineraries that cross Italy even though they have their headquarters elsewhere.
Financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the exhibition will be hosted by the Ateneo Veneto, from 3 to 18 February. This is the first stop of this travelling exhibition which will continue its journey to Florence and the rest of Italy later on.

At the event took part Antonella Magaraggia, President of Ateneo Veneto, Ermelinda Damiano, President of the City Council of Venice, Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes, Ambassador Valeria Biagiotti of MAECI and Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Director of the Italian Office of the Council of Europe.

The exhibition is free and will be open from Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
