The Council of Europe participates in the European Cultural Heritage Summit in Prague

The European Heritage Summit 2022 took place in Prague from 25 to 27 September. The event was

 organised by Europa Nostra, the European Voice of civil society committed to cultural heritage, and Europa

Nostra Czech Republic in cooperation with the European Commission and the Czech Ministry of Culture

within the framework of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In this context, the

winners of the 2022 edition of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards were

announced. This year projects were selected in five categories: preservation and reuse of historic buildings;

research; education, training and skills; citizen involvement and awareness; and heritage champions. Four

of the 30 winning projects are Italian: Va' Sentiero, Salvaguardia dell'Opera dei Pupi, Swapmuseum and

Cooperativa La Paranza. Two were the result of international teams with an Italian participation: Silknow

 and Homee. One of the prizes went to the Spanish initiative PAX which is part of the Council of Europe Faro

Network. Luisella Pavan Woolfe, Director of the Italian Office of the Council of Europe, participated at the

closing session of the Summit and underlined synergies and common objectives in the area of cultural

heritage between European Institutions.
