On 2 and 3 December 2021 the plenary meeting of the Club of Venice took place at Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. During the event, the Club presented a new book published on the occasion of its 35 years of activity. This year the Club, which brings together communication professionals from EU Member States governments and the European institutions, focused on the subject of communication in times of crisis, in particular the impact that the Coronavirus pandemic had on diplomacy, public response and the ability of communication to tackle the crisis. The debate also included a presentation of the Conference on the Future of Europe’s platform, in addition to discussions on climate change and other current issues. Daniel Holtgen, Council of Europe director of communication and spokeperson and Giuseppe Zaffuto of the same department contributed to the discussion.
