The 2021 edition of the film Lux Award is approaching

On Friday 14 May 2021, the three finalist films of the Lux Award were presented online as a joint initiative of Europe Direct of the City of Venice and Circuito Cinema CINIT - Cineforum italiano.

The Lux Award is a prize assigned every year by the European Parliament to a European production film. The winner is awarded a sum of money destined to subtitle it in all the official languages of the European Union and to produce a copy on film for each Member State, with the aim of promoting European integration and facilitating the circulation of European films.

This year's three finalists are "Another Round" by Thomas Vinterberg, "Collective" by Alexander Nanau and "Corpus Christi'' by Jan Komasa. The winner of the Lux Award will be announced on 9 June 2021 during the plenary session of the European Parliament, and until then it is possible to express a preference by voting at the following link: Homepage | LUX Audience Award (luxaward.eu)

Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Head of the Italian representation of the Council of Europe, spoke of Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s program which promotes co production, distribution and digitalization of European films, and recalled that the Vinterberg’s film, winner of the 2021 Oscar for best international film, had received Eurimages’ financial support.
