On 29 March, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Venice, Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, presented fresh data on the relationship between women and men in the economy, education, sharing of decision-making power and gender-based violence. Based upon the European Commission 2022 annual report, the discussion took place at a “Women and Europe” event organised by the Portogruaro Rotary Club.

The Head of Office showed the economic and socio-political gaps between men and women. She drew attention to the way the female employment rate is still stubbornly lower than the male one, the gender pay gap and the difficulties which women must face to be able to reconcile work and family life.
