Promoting good democratic Governance for local authorities

On 11 April a National Conference for the promotion of the ELoGE Italia project took place in Venice, organized by AICCRE, the Italian Association for the Council of European Municipalities and Regions together with the Italian representation of the Council of Europe. The European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) is a Council of Europe recognition of local authorities that have achieved high levels of good governance according to the 12 European Principles. Civic participation, representation and fair conduct of elections; responsiveness; efficiency and effectiveness; openness and transparency; ethical conduct: these are some of the key words of the 12 Principles.

Were present Benedetto della Vedova, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Anna Ascani, Undersecretary, Ministry of Economic Development, Stefano Bonaccini, President, Emilia-Romagna Region, Giovanni Toti, President, Liguria Region, Elisa de Berti, Vice President, Veneto Region, Claudia Luciani, Director of Human Rights, Equality and Governance of the Council of Europe and Carla Rey, Secretary General of AICCRE. The Director of Rai Veneto, Giovanni de Luca together with the Head of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe, Luisella Pavan-Woolfe moderated the event.
