Promoting European citizenship among schools in the Veneto region

During the morning of May 10, 2021, as part of the Europe Days celebrations, the awards ceremony of the competition "Let's become European citizens" for secondary schools’ students in Veneto took place. The competition is the result of the collaboration between MIUR-USR Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per il Veneto, the European Federalist Movement and Europe Direct of the Municipality of Venice, with the aim of stimulating among young people an active and conscious European citizenship.  

The winners of the competition received a certificate and will take part in a training holiday in Neumarkt from 19 to 24 July, while the best among the participants will take part in a further training trip to Ventotene from 29 August to 3 September.

The award ceremony was attended by the Head of the Italian Office of the Council of Europe Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, the President of the City Council of Venice Ermelinda Damiano, the Head of the Milan Office of the European Parliament Maurizio Molinari, and the National President of the European Federalist Movement Giorgio Anselmi..
