Eurimages in Venice

Several Eurimages-supported films have been selected in the 78th edition of the Venice Film Festival which opens today. Two of these are in the official competition: IL BUCO (IT, DE, FR) by Michelangelo Frammartino and CAPTAIN VOLKONOGOV ESCAPED (RU, FR, EE) by Natasha Merkulova and Aleksey Chupov. ARIAFERMA (IT, CH) by Leonardo di Costanzo has been picked Out of Competition while the co-productions 107 MOTHERS (SK, CZ, UA) by Peter Kerekes and RHINO (UA, PL, DE) by Oleg Sentsov have been selected in competition of the Orizzonti section. MADELEINE COLLINS (FR, BE, CH) by Antoine Barraud and TRES (ES, FR, LT) by Juango Giménez will be screened as part of the Venice Days (Giornate degli Autori).

Three winners of the Eurimages Lab Project Award have also been chosen in Venice: ATLANTIDE by Yuri Ancarani in the Orizzonti section, THE BLIND MAN WHO DID NOT WANT TO SEE TITANIC by Teemu Nikki in the Orizzonti Extra section and MOTHER LODE by Matteo Tortone at the Venice International Film Critics’ Week.

The Eurimages team will participate in the meetings of the Gap Financing Market on 3-4-5 September 2021 as well as in the annual Conference on Gender Equality organised in co-operation with the Festival on 7 September 2021. For more information please visit the Festival’s website.
