The Faro Convention in support of the European mining heritage" is the title of the conference organized by the Foundation Santa Barbara Mining Trail to which Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Head of the Italian Office of Council of Europe participed.

The event, which took place on 24 June in Iglesias aimed in particular at strengthening the candidature of the European Federation of Santa Barbara Mining Routes (MINES.B) to the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.

The conference saw the contribution of scholars and researchers who discussed about opportunities exist to enhance the European mining cultural heritage. It was also the occasion for Roberta Alberotanza, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, to open the exhibition “Europeans Cultural Routes Certified by the Council of Europe and crossing Italy”.
