Who are the PC-OC?

The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC / Terms of reference / List of Conventions) is the forum in which, since 1981, experts from all member and observer states and organisations come together to elaborate ways to improve international co-operation in criminal matters and identify solutions to practical problems encountered in the application of Council of Europe Conventions in this field. The PC-OC held its 80th meeting
The PC-OC held its 80th meeting, celebrating its 40th anniversary, on 22-23 November. Main items on the agenda concerned the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters and notably the co-operation with the European Public Prosecutor in application of the Convention and the need for a binding instrument to provide a solid legal basis for this co-operation ; proposals for provisions in a future update of the Convention were also considered. Further discussions concerned the preparation of a special session in 2022 on asset recovery in co-operation with the COP198 and experiences of extradition proceedings with non-European States.
