Workshop on the service of judicial documents

On 14 December, the Council of Europe office in Tirana held a workshop with the presence of about 45 judges and chancellors on the service of judicial documents.

The European Commission on the Efficiency of Justice System (CEPEJ) expert Mathieu Chardon, presented the recommendations of the report under the Action “Strengthening the efficiency and quality of the justice system in Albania - SEJ II”, in light of the current legislation and in the context of the justice reform in Albania. He shared with the participants the good practises of member states and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights regarding the validity of the court notifications. Gentian Jahjolli, CEPEJ local consultant, introduced the new legislation related to the court notifications and service of judicial documents. The workshop is intended to support the court staff in increasing the efficiency and improving the quality of its services.

This activity took place under the Action “Strengthening the efficiency and quality of the justice system in Albania - SEJ II”, which is part of the programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
