27 senior representatives of albanian courts, High Judicial Council, School of Magistrates and Council of Europe experts met in Durrës to discuss effective ways on enhancing the court leadership capacities.
Addressing the event, the Chairwoman of the High Judicial Council, Naureda Llagami, and the Head of Council of Europe Office in Tirana, Jutta Gützkow, emphasized the important role of the court leadership for the better administration of justice responding to public expectations for performance, efficiency, access, and accountability.
The workshop provided a good opportunity for the court leadership to jointly focus on the CEPEJ indicators and tools to help the court leadership in measuring and improving court performance. At the same time, it paved the way for a regular exchange on practices and ways to contribute for developing an efficient court system.
This activity was organised within the scope of the action “Strengthening the Efficiency and Quality of Justice in Albania” (SEJIII), as a part of joint initiative of the European Union and Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
