Model Operational Plan supporting Roma and Egyptian policies at Korce Community Centre

Roma and Egyptian minorities are hindered in their local integration process intricately linked to challenges such as poverty, difficult living conditions, truncated education and health care, and low access to the labour market.

Community centres represent unique assembly places for liaising and coordinating social and education services in particular with regards to marginalised groups at local level. For this purpose, local community centres need to take up a multi-dimensional and cross-sectoral approach, enabling marginalized groups to have access and cooperation with various state and private agencies, and better access to qualitative and accessible services for these communities.

In this context, the Operational Plan of the Community Centre in the Municipality of Korça in Albania is proposed as a model for planning and organisation of any local community centre. It re-dimensions the work of a community centre and serves as a guide for the Centre’s administration and activities while integrating a facilitatory mechanism for the implementation of Roma and Egyptian inclusion policies at local level.

The Operational Plan was developed in partnership with the Municipality of Korça, as one of the partner municipalities, and supported by the European Union/Council of Europe ROMACTED programme in Albania.
