Harold Epineuse, international expert of The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), performed a two-day mission in Albania to assess the IT strategy of the judicial system. Epineuse met with various beneficiaries, including the Ministry of Justice, Tirana Prosecutorial Office, EURALIUS, as well as several courts’ presidents and private companies who maintain courts case managements systems such as ICMIS and ARK-IT. The expert introduced to beneficiairies the CEPEJ Guidelines on How to Drive Change Towards Cyberjustice. The improvement of the Albanian IT judicial system is key for strengthening the efficiency and quality of the justice system as a whole, and in particular in the context of the justice reform.
This activity took place in the framework of the Programme on “Strengthening the Efficiency and Quality of Justice in Albania” (SEJ II), a joint Action co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe, which is part of the programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey".
