In the frame of the European Union/ Council of Europe action “Supporting effective domestic remedies and facilitating the execution of the European Court of Human Right judgments” (D-REX), over 500 Albanian students of Tirana and Durrës' law faculties successfully completed the human rights course on application of the European Convention on Human Rights. The course, which was implemented during the second semester of Bachelor and Master Programme, focused on case studies in relation to the right to a fair trial, the right to protection of property and the protection of gender equality. Students were coached by selected law professors and practicing attorneys in close cooperation with 3 Albanian NGOs (the Center for Legal Civic Initiatives (CLCI), Balkan Youth Link Albania (BYL-A) and the Institute for Political Studies (ISP)).

A memorandum of understanding was signed with the University of Tirana and “Aleksandër Moisiu” University” in Durrës to integrate the newly developed courses in the educational programs of both universities.
