Discussing gaps in the provision of services for survivors in the west Georgia

The second regional multi-sectorial meeting with the participation of prosecutors, representatives of Public Defender’s Office and Ministry of Social Affairs together with the non-governmental organisations providing services to women survivors of violence took place on 16-17 September in Batumi.  The meeting aimed at  promoting and improving the coordination among the representatives of different sectors working on violence against women and domestic violence issues.

The meeting served as a platform for experience and information sharing on the existing services in west Georgia. Representatives of state and non-governmental organisations, including the Public Defender’s regional office, had an opportunity to present their activities. The discussions mainly focused on gaps in the provision of services and the ways of improving referral options and pathways for the survivors of violence.

Multi-sectorial meetings were organised in cooperation with the General Prosecutor’s Office.

The event was held in the framework of the project ‘’Preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in Georgia”.
