On 21-22 February 2020, a two-day workshop to enhance future cooperation between the Service of State Inspector (SIS) and the Public Defender’s Office (PDO) took place in Tsinandali, Georgia.

During this event, discussions were held inter alia on different subjects of common interest for both institutions such as ways for future co-operation in the light of combating ill-treatment and misconduct of police officers and other public servants, mechanisms for receiving appropriate information, difficulties in gathering evidence during the investigation and coordination with other investigative bodies, etc.  

This activity was organised within the framework of the CoE Project “Juvenile and Adult Detainees Support” (JADES) which is designed to address the issues related to the rights of detained persons and their treatment; crimes committed by/against juveniles; effective remedies against police misconduct and effective investigation of the alleged ill-treatment.
