Improvement of health-care monitoring in temporary detention isolators

An online working group meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the Council of Europe consultant and the Project team took place on 8 April 2020.

The participants discussed the draft medical package, prepared to improve the quality of health-care service delivery in temporary detention isolators (TDIs). In particular, given the lack of medical tools and guidelines for the TDIs, the importance of developing standards of sanitary hygiene measures and a detailed procedure of the detainees’ movement to the isolator was underlined.

This activity was organized within the framework of the CoE Project “Juvenile and Adult Detainees Support” (JADES) which is designed to address the issues related to the rights of detained persons and their treatment; crimes committed by/against juveniles; effective remedies against police misconduct and effective investigation of the alleged ill-treatment.
