Representatives of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions enhance capacities in human rights education

The second phase of the training of trainers on human rights education for the representatives of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions took place on 5-8 August.

With the support of the Council of Europe and in cooperation with the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions, resource officers, psychologists and social workers were trained under the Human Rights Education Learning Programme for Resource Officers developed by the Council of Europe experts.

The learning programme included topics such as, the human rights, stereotypes and discrimination, tolerance and diversity, bullying, cyberbullying and online hate speech, the rights of children with disabilities and special educational needs. It also included components related to human rights and its psychological aspects. The programme is based on the non-formal educational principles: learning through experience and cooperation while using the Council of Europe resources on human rights education.

With the knowledge and skills developed through the trainings, the participants will be able to effectively lead the human rights education process with colleagues and students. After the completion of the trainings, they will be able to plan and implement educational campaigns on human rights education and other preventive measures, which will support the respect and protection of human rights in schools.

This training of trainers is supported by the co-operation Project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia” which is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
