Toolkit for strengthening electoral jurisprudence is available online

The toolkit on “Electoral dispute resolution: strengthening electoral jurisprudence” developed in cooperation with the Venice Commission and the Central Election Commission of Georgia is now available online. The document promotes the Council of Europe methodology for Electoral Cooperation on delivering useful, relevant, sustainable, and owned (URSO) solutions.

The toolkit aims at strengthening electoral jurisprudence through improving the quality of decision-making of election management bodies and courts of the general jurisdictions. It serves as a comprehensive methodological guide for all the electoral stakeholders including election officials, domestic observers, party proxies, judges and legal professionals.

The Electoral dispute resolution toolkit is based on the rule of law perspective focusing on ECtHR case law the good practices and experience of Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It offers a variety of training materials to be used by the professionals.

The toolkit was prepared within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia”, which is supporting the Central Election Commission of Georgia and common courts of Georgia in piloting the toolkit.
