Supporting the development of the Judicial Internship Model

The Council of Europe organised bilateral meetings with court managers, judicial interns and their supervisors on 14 March at Tbilisi City Court and the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Meetings aimed at developing more efficient Judicial Internship model in Georgia to achieve a better career-development system for the new-comers and interns at courts. The activity is envisaged by the 2017 – 2021 Strategy of the Justice system.

The Council of Europe international expert assessed the existing situation and current challenges in the field. The information will assist the expert to provide a model in compliance with European standards and best practices, offering more efficient feedback mechanisms and assessment criteria, clear job descriptions and other important instruments.

The activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe project “Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia”, which is funded by voluntary contributions of Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, the Slovak Republic, and Sweden to support the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2016 - 2019.
