Advancing skills of judge assistants in Georgia

A training session “Reviewing court cases on hate crimes’’ for judge assistants of criminal and civil chambers of regional and city courts  was held on 15-16 September 2018 at High School of Justice.  The activity aimed to familiarize judge assistants with the specificities of hate crimes. The workshop was mostly practice oriented: specific case studies were reviewed and discussed. On the other hand, training participants got familiar with the international legislative framework on hate crimes, including international human rights conventions and European Court of Human Rights case-law.

The workshop was organized in the framework of the European Union - Council of Europe joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.
