Capture what Europe means to you and upload your picture to Instagram. The six winners (including one overall winner) will win a diploma and be invited to the 70th anniversary commemorative event in October 2019. Also, a selection of the best photos and the winning photos will be exhibited at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The competition will be officially launched on Monday 4 February.

Rules:
Participants should choose one or more of the 5 listed topics, take a photo and share it on Instagram. They can submit more than one photo and in more than one category.

They should use the hashtag #MakingEurope2019 and select a category by adding the relevant hashtag:

About: “70 years making Europe: 47 countries, 840 million people – Europe and Europeans today”
Created in 1949, the Council of Europe counts 47 countries covering 840 million people. Its core values are Human Rights – Democracy –Rule of Law. Against this background, the competition is intended to spur reflection about the common thread between these countries and people, their reality, challenges, expectations and hopes for a better future.

Eligibility: The competition is open to anyone over the age of 13 living in one of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe.

Entry period: The competition takes place between 4 February and 30 April 2019, midnight CET.

Winner: A jury will select the winners on the basis of the quality and creativity of the photo and caption, among the photos that were liked the most. One photo will be awarded for each of the 5 categories and there will be one overall winner.

Prize: The six winners will be announced on 30 June 2019 and will be awarded a diploma of the Council of Europe. They will be invited to Strasbourg to receive the diplomas at the 70th anniversary commemorative event in October 2019. Also, a selection of the best photos and the winning photos will be exhibited in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
