Workshop on CEC Gender Participatory Audit (PGA)

On 9-10 May 2019 the Central Election Commission of Georgia organised a workshop on Gender Participatory Audit (PGA) with the support of the Council of Europe. The seminar was conducted by Council of Europe experts, ILO accredited facilitators, who are in the midst of implementing PGA of the Election Administration of Georgia.

The aim of the PGA is to provide gender mainstreaming within the election administration. PGA, an innovative instrument developed by ILO, enables to carry out activities aimed at achieving parity in professional posts, conducting gender analysis and mainstreaming in all areas of technical work, foreseeing institutional arrangements and mechanisms for mainstreaming gender into programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. ILO accredited facilitators will prepare a PGA report. Findings of the PGA report will demonstrate existing state of affairs and offer recommendations on how to improve gender equality within the election administration.

The PGA of Election Administration of Georgia is being conducted within the frame of Council of Europe project “Reform of the Electoral Practice in Georgia”.
