Promoting human rights and equality together with Tbilisi Open Air festival

The Council of Europe Office in Georgia teamed up together with the Tbilisi Open Air festival. In addition to the quality musical programme, this year the visitors of Tbilisi Open Air festival also had a chance to discover more about equality and non-discrimination at the Human Rights Corner set up by the Council of Europe Office in Georgia.

The Human Rights Corner was first introduced by the Council of Europe in 2019 in the framework of the ‘I Choose Equality’ campaign, aimed at promoting equality and diversity at the festival site through innovative and creative actions. This year the Human Rights Corner welcomed festival participants with various games, quizzes on women’s rights, equality, diversity and freedom of speech. It organised the competition on equality and diversity and run discussions on women’s rights and Internet governance and data protection.

This year’s Human Rights Corner engaged hundreds of visitors of the festival in various fun and educational activities to promote core value of the Council of Europe such as protection of human rights. Winners of various interactive competitions received awards inviting them to continue supporting human rights by visibility actions.
Photos from the different activities can be found here.

This activity was implemented in the framework of the Council of Europe projects: ‘Promoting the Effective Protection of Equality and Non-Discrimination in Georgia’, ‘Strengthening Media Freedom, Internet Governance and Personal Data Protection in Georgia (SMIP-GE)’ and ‘Promoting an Integrated Approach to End Violence Against Women and Reinforcing Gender Equality in Georgia’.
