On 27 July Council of Europe launched a new training course, aiming at teaching youth and municipality representatives about human rights concepts, including Council of Europe’s definitions. The course will equip participants with an understanding of discrimination and hate speech and help them to create counter or alternative narratives against hate speech.
This training course is part of the awareness-raising project: “We together, We can” conducted by the Human Rights Association and implemented by the Council of Europe together with State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.
“We together, We can” brings together youth from different regions of Georgia, including youth from minority background steaching them about human rights, in particular equality and diversity, and helping them implement interesting and creative small-scale projects in their communities. The training will be followed by small-scale projects during the implementation phase.
The activity is conducted in the framework of the “I Choose Equality” campaign run by the co-operation project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
