Medical staff of the Georgian Temporary Detention Isolators trained on Council of Europe standards

Two groups of the medical staff of the Georgian Temporary Detention Isolators attended a series of training courses aimed at increasing their capacities in delivering quality healthcare services and in the use of the high standard interviewing techniques with victims of ill-treatment.

During the three-day training, the participants increased their knowledge on the standards established by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture on healthcare service delivery in closed institutions, responsibilities of the medical staff working in Temporary Detention Isolators, the Georgian Law on psychiatric care and other relevant topics.

This activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Juvenile and Adult Detainees Support” (JADES) which is designed to address the issues related to the rights of detained persons and their treatment; crimes committed by/against juveniles; effective remedies against police misconduct and effective investigation of the alleged ill-treatment.

We work together to promote Human rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law!
