HELP course on Reasoning of Criminal Judgments Justice

The European Union and the Council of Europe  in co-operation with the High School of Justice officially launched the online HELP course on Reasoning of Criminal Judgments Justice on 23 October in Tbilisi, Georgia.

HELP course has been designed to address the needs of judges, who, in their courts, are required to reference the judgments and case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The course is developed in an interactive way, with 7 different modules including right to fair trial, and reasoning of criminal judgments.   Apart from the adaptation of the online course to the Georgian legal context, the project supports the involvement of two national tutors supervising the distance learning of 20 judge assistants. The activity strengthens the application of the ECHR standards by the national courts.

The event was organised in the framework of the European Union – Council of Europe joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.

The online HELP course can be accessed in English language at this link.
