Equality Hackathon to be organised to support diversity and equality

The aim of the Equality Hackathon is to develop data-driven digital products that visualise information about discriminatory practices and their negative impact on society.

Participation in the hackathon is free of charge and open to any interested statistician, graphic designer, web developer, communications specialist, researcher, civil society activists and other persons interested in data and equality issues.

During the event, teams made up of 2-6 people will work with mentors to create innovative products aimed at eliminating discrimination and promoting equality. The winning team or teams will be awarded a cash prize.

During the Hackathon, teams are encouraged to create the following products:

  • Interactive visualization;
  • A series of infographics;
  • Mobile or web game or application;
  • Quiz;
  • Animated video;
  • Social experimentation and more.

In order to participate in the hackathon, it is necessary to fill out the registration form by 11 June. Participants will be selected based on completed applications.

Prior to the Equality Hackathon, online webinars on data visualization, effective communication and equality are being organised. The first webinar on "Data Visualization for Equality Advocacy" was held on 1 June online. The video of the webinar is available online. The second webinar on “How to create a data-driven story properly?” will be held online on 7 June via zoom platform and will be broadcasted live on Forset facebook page.
