Directorate General of Democracy (DG II) of the Council of Europe announces a call for expression of interest for municipalities in the framework of the Council of Europe project “Strengthening Participatory Democracy and Human Rights at Local Level in Georgia.”
The aim of the call for interest is to establish a group of maximum 15 municipalities, who will collaborate with the project in the area of participatory democracy and will address challenges in the field of civil participation in decision-making at the local level.
Expression of interest can be submitted by local authorities from all regions of Georgia, however, the priority will be given to the municipalities from the target regions of the project: Tbilisi, Guria, Imereti, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
The letter of expression of interest, together with the information on the applicant municipality, must be submitted in an electronic form (Word and/or PDF) in Georgian or in English to the following e-mail address: [email protected]
Applications must be received before 22 July 2022 (23.59 - Tbilisi time). Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
E-mails should contain the following reference in subject line: Participatory Democracy_ Georgia _Expression of interest_Name of the municipality.
The call is organised in the framework of the Project “Strengthening Participatory Democracy and Human Rights at Local Level in Georgia”, implemented by the Directorate General of Democracy, Division Elections and Participatory Democracy and Congress of Local and Regional Authorities within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023 with the financial contribution of Austrian Development Cooperation.
