The "Group of Copenhagen" (Network of National Platforms) and FIFA collaborating for FIFA Women's World Cup (France, 7 June – 7 July 2019)

The Network of National Platforms (which comprises 25 countries) will participate in the "FWWC integrity task force" set up by FIFA to ensure the integrity of the competition. The follow-up procedure established will ensure close co-operation between the main national and international actors, including betting regulators, law enforcement agencies and participating member associations. Identification and risk management for each of 6 groups during the competition will be coordinated by six National Platforms: Group A: Norway; Group B: Spain; Group C: Australia; Group D: United Kingdom; Group E: Netherlands; and Group F: Sweden.

The implementation of this unprecedented procedure is the direct result of the cooperation between the Council of Europe and FIFA developed within the framework of the "Memorandum of understanding" signed on 5 October 2018 between the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The Group of Copenhagen, established by the Council of Europe in 2016, is composed of the coordinators of the National Platforms that have been, or are in the process of being created by the public authorities in order to coordinate the fight against the manipulation of competitions in accordance with article 13 of the Macolin Convention. As part of its activities, the Group of Copenhagen - which acts primarily as a network for the exchange of information, experience and expertise - is paying attention to the monitoring of international sporting events. The responsibility of National Platforms will be to manage any positive detection/attempt in order to carry out the investigation and – if necessary – penalties.
