Council of Europe’s Network of National platforms fighting against the manipulation of sports competitions met in Lisbon

João Paulo Rebelo, Secretary of State for Youth and Sport of the Portuguese Government, opened the 6th meeting of the “Group of Copenhagen”. Discussions, involving 22 countries (including for the first time Australia), centered on a systematic approach of the trans-national co-operation between the National Platforms and the assistance to countries to prevent, detect and investigate effectively all types of manipulation covered by the Macolin Convention (CETS n°215). The “Group of Copenhagen” also engaged to play an active role in the preparation of the 3rd International Conference on the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions – Promotion and implementation of the Macolin Convention which will focus on the role of the National Platforms (Strasbourg on 24-25 September 2018, www.coe.int/macolinconference).
