Conference of INGOs addressed the human rights of migrants

On 28-31 October 2019 in Strasbourg, during its October session, the Council of Europe affiliated NGOs addressed the human rights of migrants. The session gathered some 200 NGOs from 30 countries to discuss challenges migrants face, such as hate speech on the internet and challenges related to climate change and biodiversity, and issues around the Mediterranean. The session also included a debate and adoption by the Conference of INGOs and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the revised Code of Good Practice for Civil Participation in Decision-Making.

In the sidelines of the session, a screening of the documentary film "Grand H" (Grand Humanity) was organised, based on interviews with persons directly concerned by migration and questions citizens' responsabilities and the division between policy and humanity. Furthermore, a photographic exhibition "SEEN: Portraits of & by Women on the Run" was displayed as the result of a workshop organized with migrant women in Greece.
