Launch of the Council of Europe Language Support toolkit for Adult Refugees

On 17 November 2017, The Council of Europe Language Support Toolkit for Adult Refugees will be available on the website www.coe.int/lang-refugees  in 7 languages (English, French, Dutch, German, Greek, Italian and Turkish).

The toolkit will be officially launched during an event to be held at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 22-23 November 2017, which will bring together the most active associations and organisations in Europe. The event will make the toolkit known to public and private bodies working with refugees, especially those staffed by volunteers. This initiative was developed by the Language Policy Programme of the Council of Europe within the context of “Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants” (LIAM). This web-based toolkit of materials has been developed to assist organisations that provide language support for adult refugees and its use will be free.

The Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on Migration and Refugees, Tomáš Boček will contribute to this event as well as representatives of The European Commission, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
