Working group meeting for harmonisation of the descriptors (key words) in criminal cases for the case law database was organised on 18 September 2020 in Sarajevo. Criminal judges of Supreme Court of Republika Srpska, Supreme Court of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Appellate Court of Brčko District discussed and adopted the legal and linguistic terms to be searched for in the case law database, which is currently under development.  

Harmonised descriptors should allow better and more relevant search results, aiming at harmonisation of the judicial practice in equal legal and similar factual situations, thus assuring equality of the citizens before the law.

The working groups meetings are organised by the Council of Europe, under the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Phase II” funded by the voluntary contribution of the Government of Norway and in co-operation with the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and The AIRE Centre.
