Three-day training for the representatives of leading media from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Within the "Support to the Integral and Inclusive Election Process in Bosnia and Herzegovina" project, the Council of Europe Office in Sarajevo organised a three-day training for the representatives of leading media from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim to strengthen the capacity of media for professional, independent, continuous, and relevant monitoring and reporting on election. This was a second training in a row and it was held in Neum, in period from 9 to 12 September 2021.

Working closely with the Central Election Commission (CEC), experts and the media, the project provides education of media representatives for the professional and independent monitoring of electoral process to empower the trust in the rule of law, trust in election administration and fair elections.

The programme of education, developed in line with relevant international standards and good practice, same like for the first seminar organised in July, has been prepared in cooperation between the Council of Europe and the Central Election Commission (CEC) experts, as a base for education and certification of additional 30 representatives of the 30 leading media organisations from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The aim of the education is to acquaint the representatives of the leading media in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the most important aspects of the electoral process, electoral legislation, existing solutions, but also with the challenges posed by the need to improve electoral legislation and other improvements in the electoral process, including possible technical improvements by introducing new technologies in the electoral process.
