The Government of Spain has made a voluntary contribution of €95,000 to support the Council of Europe’s Neighbourhood Partnerships with Morocco and Tunisia 2018-2021, the projects “Promoting Diversity and Equality” and “Global Youth - Interregional Cooperation for Youth Participation and Global Citizenship” implemented by the North-South Centre, the Venice Commission’s action to promote the development of democratic institutions based on respect for the rule of law and human rights, translation and publication of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as to reduce the European Court of Human Rights backlog of well-founded cases.

Ambassador Manuel Montobbio, Permanent Representative of Spain to the Council of Europe, met with Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General, on this occasion.
